Summer is here and it’s time for everyone to start planning vacations to beaches, in search of cool blue waters and tanning opportunities but the only problem is the crowd at beaches during this time of the year. This list is for all of those people who love spending time at the beach but hate the crowds there.  It’s time to ditch the popular and crowded beaches and try these “underdogs” in the beach world where you can enjoy all the pace and solitude in the world.

Curacao, Caribbean

This Dutch Caribbean Island is one of the most underrated Caribbean islands making it the ideal getaway for people who want a relaxed holiday. This island is full of beautiful beaches, such as Knip beach, Kabana beach and Mambo beach with its white sands, cool blue water and amazing water sports opportunities.

Wonga Beach, Port Douglas

This beach is around a half an hour drive from Port Douglas, Australia and is the best place for a relaxed and laid-back afternoon without all of the tourist buzzes. From here you can also visit the Daintree River and the National Park. A bonus would be the affordability of vacationing in this little beach town.

Cumberland Island is only reachable by ferry ride from St. Mary’s, Georgia. These rides can be booked in advance online. The island is 18 miles of scenic beauty with utterly deserted beaches often visited by wild horses, marshes and dunes. The island doesn’t have any facilities for water sports or activities, instead it gives one the peace of mind that can be achieved when away from crowds of people.
